MBC has officially confirmed that Han Hyo Joo and Gong Myoung will headline its upcoming 2026 romance drama “Your Ground” — and the announcement is already sparking major buzz across K-drama communities.
In this fresh youth-romance series, Gong Myoung takes on the role of a once-promising baseball player whose future derails after a single career-shaking failure. Just when he believes his dreams are slipping away, he crosses paths with a sharp former lawyer who has reinvented herself as a sports agent, played by Han Hyo Joo. Their unexpected partnership becomes the turning point in his journey back to the field — and perhaps the beginning of something deeper.
With its mix of emotional revival, personal growth, and slow-burn chemistry, the storyline draws early comparisons to the Hollywood classic Jerry Maguire, known for its poignant bond between an athlete and his agent. Adding to the anticipation, director Lee Sang Yeob — celebrated for his heartfelt approach in Yumi’s Cells — is set to lead the project.
An MBC representative shared that “Your Ground” is part of a meticulously crafted 2026 lineup designed to showcase high-quality productions across diverse genres. “As the ‘Drama Kingdom,’ we aim to deliver an exceptional year supported by powerful casts and top-class production teams,” the spokesperson stated.
The broadcaster’s 2026 slate will begin with The Judge Returns, starring Ji Sung, Park Hee Soon, and Won Jin Ah, premiering January 2 — setting the stage for a blockbuster year, with Your Ground standing out as one of its most promising romance titles.
